M. Scott Eiland

For some time now I’ve been ambivalent about Eiland. All his material is decent and readable, but his stories almost always include lengthy speeches (usually by Buffy, Xander, or Willow) that come across as out-of-character. Occasionally — as with “Breaking Point” and “Ethics” — the tendency is muted or appropriate to the story; and occasionally — as with the minor but amusing “Countermeasures” — he approaches a theme from a different perspective. In the final analysis, Eiland is an author whose style contains certain quirks I consider to be flaws … but he maintains a steady output, he always has something worthwhile to offer, and if you wind up not liking a story, you haven’t been put through a wringer or dragged through a week of reading for no purpose.

His stories are posted in a number of places, but the largest collection I’ve encountered is under his name here at Fanfiction.net. Read and enjoy.

Breaking Point Season: between 4 and 5 Spoilers: “Restless”
