FayJay

Not all reviews call for lengthy preamble or piercing insight. FayJay has written a number of stories, both Buffy and Angel. My own preferences, of course, tilt toward Sunnydale rather than L.A., yet the ones that caught my attention are all Angel-based. Those are the breaks.

Shaken, Not Stirred” is the one I like best, because there’s a little action and we get two-for-the-price-of-one on peering into the characters’ inner natures. “Diamonds” (which, like “Shaken, Not Stirred”, prominently features Lilah Morgan), has a more vivid and charged atmosphere, but essentially serves as episode filler. “Chaos Theory” is even briefer and less demanding; it squeezes in on the virtues of its predecessors, but nonetheless provides a diverting glimpse into unexplored corners. Finally, “Indelible” provides a thoroughly plausible explanation for a much-wondered-at aspect of Cordelia.

I’ll be checking out more of FayJay’s stuff, and watching for new entries. Nothing earthshaking here, but definite possibilities.
