As a rule I don’t like sillyfic, and I religiously avoid songfic, but McMillian’s “The Musical Comedy Version (Extended Dance Mix)” is a hilarious exception. Set in Season 2, it provides a reasonably prophetic version of the principle expounded in the Season 5 episode, “Once More With Feeling”: for once there was a reason why people were behaving in such a ridiculous fashion, and the pacing and characterization — not to mention the song lyrics themselves — are utterly delightful. If you love musicals, or even if you hate them, this will entertain you.
