I’ve been watching this author for quite some time … because, like several other well-recognized names in Buffyfic (Kate Bolin would be a good example), she has turned out a significant body of high-quality Buffyfic that simply doesn’t appeal to me. Her agile imagination, incandescent imagery, and haunting characterization made me want very much to recommend her, but this was counterbalance by the fact that I just didn’t like anything she did. Well, nothing lasts forever. Besides being talented, Jennifer-Oksana is also prolific, and when so much ability and output are combined, eventually there has to be something that slips through the bars of my preferences. “All Your Tomorrows” is the first such I encountered, an intriguing and entertaining character study that winds up being a bit touching as well. “Reconciliation”, while still carrying the Jennifer-Oksana trademark stamp, is also a solid adventure story, showing the characters of Angel in an improbable future and letting us see just how they reached that point. Longer than most of her other work, it takes us into unexpected places and makes us enjoy it.
