Oracle

I once singled out Christina Kamnikar for the best Buffy story anywhere (though more recent writings offer some brutal competition), and once thought of Mediancat as the greatest of the Buffy fanfic writers I had ever encountered (before Yahtzee started changing everyone’s standards). Anyone who’s ever read Oracle, however, will rank that name with the best, and I’ll listen sympathetically to arguments that put Oracle even above Mediancat. This is the Tom Clancy of Buffyfic, only with enough emotional turmoil to satisfy the romantics among us, and there’s a remarkable consistency to all of Oracle’s stuff. Most are sizeable stories — and “Déjà Vu All Over Again” is the length of a medium-sized novel — but they’re all solid and original and convincing. Check it out.
